Clear rules for a calm care experience.
Cancer Talk helps patients learn, book appointments, receive reminders and communicate with their doctor. These terms explain what you can expect from the platform and what we need from you.
1. About Cancer Talk
Cancer Talk is operated for the public education and appointment services of Dr. Sidath Wijesekera. The website includes cancer information articles, videos, patient accounts, appointment booking, reminders and consultation support tools.
2. Educational content is not emergency or personal medical advice
Articles, videos and general website content are for education only. They do not replace a diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription or emergency care from a qualified medical professional. If you have urgent symptoms, seek immediate medical attention from an emergency service or nearby hospital.
3. Patient accounts and OTP security
Some services require a patient account. You must provide accurate name, email and phone details. Cancer Talk uses phone-based OTP verification for patient registration and login. You are responsible for keeping your device, email account and login access secure.
4. Appointment booking and confirmations
When you book an appointment, the request is created as pending until the doctor confirms it. Appointments may be online or in-person, depending on the selected slot and location. You will receive in-app notifications and, where contact details are available, email updates for booking receipt, confirmation, cancellation and reminders.
5. Payments
Consultation fees are paid by bank transfer to the account shown at the last step of booking and repeated in your booking email, or at the clinic where the doctor offers that option. Cancer Talk does not process card payments and does not use an online payment gateway. Quote your appointment reference with the transfer so the payment can be matched. Consultation fees can differ by appointment type and clinic location. A booking may still require doctor confirmation before the consultation is considered final.
6. Cancellations and availability
Patients can cancel eligible appointments from their dashboard while the appointment is pending or confirmed and scheduled for a future date. Doctors may also cancel or update appointments when needed. Cancellation and refund handling is described in the Refund Policy.
7. Communication tools
After an appointment is confirmed, Cancer Talk may open a patient-doctor chat so information can be shared before the consultation. Use chat responsibly and do not use it for emergencies. SMS reminders are sent approximately 30 minutes before confirmed appointments when a valid phone number is available.
8. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the platform, attempt unauthorised access, upload harmful content, impersonate another person, harass staff or other users, scrape content, or use the service for unlawful purposes.
9. Intellectual property
Website content, design, branding, articles and videos belong to Cancer Talk, Dr. Sidath Wijesekera or their respective creators. You may share public page links, but you may not copy, resell or republish content without permission.
10. Changes and Sri Lankan law
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Questions can be sent to info@cancertalk.lk.
